I used chia seeds natural peanut butter to make this grilled banana peanut butter sandwich, so it is delicious and nutritious. It is a great breakfast recipe for kids and active adults.
Serves: 1 serving
Preparation Time: 2 minute
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 slices of brown bread with seeds
- 2 tbsp of no added sugar natural peanut butter with chia seeds
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 tbsp of 60% dark chocolate chips
- about 15g of unsalted butter (cut into 2 or 3 cubes)
Instructions

Peel and slice a banana into 5 mm thick slices

Spread 1 table spoon of chia seed peanut butter on each pieces of brown bread.

Put banana slices on one of the sliced brown bread.

Then scatter the dark chocolate chips on top of the banana slices.

Use another piece of brown bread to cover the fillings.

Heat up a pan and put a knob of butter in. Put the sandwich in the melted butter and brown it slowly in medium low heat.

Move the sandwich around the pan to absorb all the melted butter.

Flip the sandwich when one side is brown. Put the other knob of butter in the pan and move the sandwich around to absorb the melted butter. Brown the other side of the sandwich in low heat until it is golden brown and the banana slices are warmed.

This quick and easy grilled sandwich is perfect for school days. I normally give the kids a glass of almond milk as well to ensure they have enough energy till school lunch time. You may also interested in the savoury Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich I shared before.
